Research Results at SED 2026

Project Team Presented Research Results at SED 2026

From 8 to 12 September 2026

From 8 to 12 September 2026, the project team participated in international conference “Sofia Electrochemical Days 2026” (SED 2026), presenting research results through an oral presentation and poster contributions.

The presented research focused on the development and optimisation of carbon-based materials for supercapacitor applications, including binder-free carbon gel film electrodes, chemically activated porous carbon gels, and N-doped carbon materials.

The following contributions were presented:

  • “Electrospray-Assisted Engineering of Binder-Free Carbon Gel Film Electrodes: From In Situ Growth to Heteroatom-Tailored Architectures for High-Performance Supercapacitors” – Madhav Chavhan, University of Ostrava, Czech Republic;
  •
  • “Effect of Chemical Activation on the Electrochemical Performance of Porous Carbon Gels for Supercapacitors” – Antonia Stoyanova, IEES-BAS, Bulgaria;
  •
  • “Electrochemical Performance of N-Doped Carbon Materials for Supercapacitor Applications” – Boryana Karamanova, IEES-BAS, Bulgaria.

The presented studies attracted considerable interest among participants and stimulated discussions on the development and application of advanced carbon materials for energy storage
